Ordinary People, Extraordinary Gifts

Ordinary People, Extraordinary Gifts
Hospice & Community Care believes that each one of our volunteers is an essential part of the hospice mission. While our volunteers are ordinary people, with different backgrounds and experiences, they all have a common goal: to share their extraordinary gifts with people in times of great need.
Gifts of Time and Service
The service and dedication of our volunteers has allowed Hospice & Community Care staff the ability to provide care in their professional areas of expertise. Of the 115,000 persons involved in hospice care in America, some 95,000 are volunteers, and each year they give more than 5 million hours to help dying persons and their families.
In 2008, Hospice & Community Care Volunteers gave:
- • Over 15,000 total volunteer hours
• Over 6,000 hours devoted to direct patient care
• Volunteers saved Hospice & Community Care over $200,00
