Ananda Partners with Hospice & Community Care for free concerts

PJ Brunson and Laurie Neal of the piano violin duo, “Ananda” have partnered with Hospice & Community Care to preform free concerts in the community to benefit Hospice.  The duo released their first recording of instrumental music for healing and relaxation titled “Still Waters” in 2010. They describe their music as a blend of Classical, Celtic, and New Age influences. CDs will be available following the performance and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Hospice & Community Care of Rock Hill.
Brunson and Neal decided to use their talents to benefit area hospice organizations because several of the original songs on the CD were written in memory of loved ones who had received hospice care. The music is melodic and often emotional and cathartic, and is intended to “calm, to comfort, and to heal”.
The recording contains sixteen original instrumental songs composed by Brunson and arranged for violin by Neal. It also contains the duo’s arrangements of “Amazing Grace” and “What Child Is This”. The title was taken from the 23rd Psalm.
Laurie Neal performs with the Westminster Presbyterian Church Orchestra and Praise Band and is also a wedding and strolling violinist. PJ Brunson is a Rock Hill singer/songwriter and guitarist who performs regularly at various venues in the area. The two have been performing together for about a year and a half.

Hospice Receives National Award

Hal Bullard, President of First Financial Services of York County, nominated Hospice & Community Care for the "Ambassadors of Caring" award which was presented to volunteers Ann Johnson and Tom Sidey.

Hospice & Community Care recently received a national award called “Ambassadors of Caring” sponsored by Equitable Life and Casualty. This award is shared by all the individuals who have been a part of our 24 year history from the patients and family members that we have served to the volunteers and donors that sustain us. To all of you, we are grateful for your support and for helping us to fulfill our mission. A brief video story was produced by a professional videographer highlighting the award presentation. We are deeply touched by the tender story he captured following our volunteers and a patient family member. We hope that you will enjoy it too as this is a celebration of our community efforts to support our local non-profit hospice, Hospice & Community Care.
